Barry Pyeatt Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 I'm back in the Seattle again, (area that is). Arrived to sunny skies, warm weather and the leaves coming out on all the trees. Tulips are up and blooming, Daffodils are beautiful. Cherry trees are in bloom and the blossoms are everywhere. Must be Spring in the Northwest. Anxious to get back to work on my boat ASAP. Going to check out my new workshop/boat shed this afternoon. We're supposed to start moving things from storage tomorrow and setting up shop. Will move the boat next weekend if not sooner. Not the same as Kauai but it is home and I'm happy to be back. Quote

We call retired couples that go outside during the winter Snow Geese. Winters are hard on old bones up here. My sister-in-law's husband and I have been discussing buying winter homes for the good old days. Though I am a hard core Ak pilgrim, I do like sailing when ever I want. This is the Oh Pa Shaw, Orcus Island; and further north on a fine sail, on a wet cold day. Notice the excellent float coat, A #1 gear for coastal weather. Juno or Sitka are starting to sound good right about now. I keep hoping my wife gets mad at her boss and quits. :wink: Then we can look for jobs on the coast or South East Islands. Pretty down that way, lots of places to sail to, though wet like your country. Who cares with a good First-Mate, a sailboat and a hot cup of chocolate? Quote

Barry Pyeatt Posted April 5, 2004 Author Posted April 5, 2004 Thanks guys. Well, we got a couple large truckloads of shop equipment moved to my new digs today. With some concerted effort and some help I will have enough moved and set up by next weekenc to get back to work on my boat and a couple other projects I'm working on. Not what I really want, but the price is right, the timing is perfect and it is available now. Got an electrician coming tomorrow to put in more lighting and run a couple more circuits for me. My son is picking up a nice 5Hp 2-stage compressor this week, the plumbing is all in for it already. Surgery on my eye on Tues. week after next and then we'll see about building some more and finishing up the Weekender. Quote
