Surplus Military Binoculars

I just ordered the E German Zeiss 7X40 below for use on the kid's wedding-gift Hartley sloop restoration....and for the terminally frugal like me, I thought I would pass this resource on I've bought from for years.

For general use I have a military surplus 6X30 Zeiss from this place...but there's nuthin wrong with Swiss Getz-Kern optics in the $75-100 range, either:

I worked for Carl Zeiss for 17 years and was witness to a bit of the unification that went on in Germany when the wall came down. Zeiss was originally on the East side of the wall and after WWII some employees were given the opportunity to leave to the west and setup shop. Zeiss became East and West.

I was working for the West German Zeiss but when the wall came down the government asked Zeiss to set a good example and integrate the East German Zeiss workers and make one big happy family. Some of the product lines conflicted but corporate made an effort to incorporate at least a few of the East

Thanks Bill...we used to zip over there from Checkpoint Charlie because the of the binos available from the DDR Zeiss...as we had to wear our uniforms, and as the binos were obviously going for military purposes...I'm surprised they sold them to us.
