The Bellhaven 19 pretty well fits what i want except for the modern cabin style...thinking of the cabintop from the Princess 22 on it instead.....any way to get modified plans with this change? Or, just the plan section for the Princess cabin (dimensions etc.)? I want to stay under 20' feet if i can, maybe shorten the Princess to 20' or less by removing the aft motor well section? How would a change like this effect balance and ballast position? Also, i was wondering about tabernackles with masts offset to either side of centerline and if this would work with either the Princess or the Bellhaven to ease cabin entry and rigging/setup/trailering.... Charlie Jones Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 The Princess tabernacles are offset slightly so the masts fold past each other. The companionway is slightly offset to allow entry into the cabin when the masts are down. Changing the style of a cabin top is not that difficult, as long as the basic stength requirements are maintained. Quote
Designer Posted October 2, 2003 Posted October 2, 2003 Charlie gave you good answers on the subject of the offset masts and cabin squaring up (I did alittle doodling on this cabin and it can be made to fit the boat alright). I would never suggest "chopping off" the Princess. It would seriously and detrimentally affect the balance - and other things! It is better if we work with you on slightly re-styling the Belhaven cabin to your liking. Quote
