Guest scott widmier Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 Here is another chance to get together with your fellow boatbuilders to admire everyone's handiwork and have some fun sailing. August 22nd-24th we will be getting together at Jamestown Campground on Lake Pymatuning in NW Pennsylvania. For those of you not familiar with this lake, it is 14,000 acres with a 10hp limit. Jamestown Campground is on the south shore of the lake right near a rather large sailing basin with no hills to steal the wind. Pymatuning is one of the top ten lakes for sailing in the US. It is also great for fishing and has several family oriented activities around including a waterpark. The campground itself is really nice with a wonderful protected cove to anchor the boats. Unfortunately, there is no sleeping on the boats on Pymatuning. The campground has a nice beach and an nice playset for the family. There is no alcohol allowed at the park which has turned it into a quite family campground. I reserved site 633 for August 21st-24th. Checkin is at 3:00pm so we plan on arriving Thursday afternoon or evening and sail Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. Sites 626 and 628 are available right next to 633. Sites 630 and 635 were taken. These are the sites that back up to the nice place to moor our boats. Once we get 626 and 628 we can start reserving people in 625,627,629, and 631 all of which are right accross the road from the lagoon sites but give a nice view over the lake. This is an excellent place to sail, nothing but fishermen and sailboats. (fishermen without 100hp outboards). We have camped and boated here at least twice a summer for the last 6 or seven years. Guest scott widmier Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 looks like we will have one vacationer, one pocket cruiser, and two weekenders at pymatuning. If you are thinking about these boats, this is a great opportunity to compare them side by side and maybe even go sailing. Also, if you have a completed boat (any kind) this is a great opportunity to go sailing and have fun sitting around the campfire at night. Quote
