I'm just afraid we're going to run out of heat by the time we launch. I't kindof a pain to work on the boat in this heat at 30 degC. But the bondo sure cures fast hihihi. Quote

Two sundays ago we got just shy of seven inches in one afternoon. Flooded everything. Impressive and scary at the same time. The worst part is the lightning. I hate lightning. Quote
Craig Posted July 1, 2003 Author Posted July 1, 2003 We are in that loop Russ. Two weeks ago it rained moost every day. I wnet to Norfolk for a week and it was hot as hell. Came home friday and Sat it started raining again. Last two days has been this Bob storm . We are still getting feeder bands. Reading the paper this morning I watched one of the lawn swings blow by followed closely by the BBQ cover. The wife got up and worried about everything knocked down. I told her to just leave it and I would get them back to where they belonged tonight. Came home for lunch abd everything had blown to the otherside of the yard. She just had to stand everything up again. Ah, Florida, Ah summer, ah s__t, more rain....... :roll: Quote

Mike Pennington Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 I am so sorry, my past to sails to Harding Lake I left the house when the sky was dark threating rain. Even got rained on setting up :? But all it takes is just taking the extra time to shake out a boom tarp, in the process get soaking wet and presto! The sun comes out :roll: really! Well thats the way it was for my past two sails, lucky me I hope the weather improves for you guys soon. Real dry up this way, we could use some rain no doubt, but I am not complaining :wink: Coxswain Ice, at the helm, this one has been sailing since he was ten. Quote

Craig Posted July 2, 2003 Author Posted July 2, 2003 It cleared off about 5 PM today and should be back to our normal 30% chance over the weekend. Friday looks poor for late afternoon but we will see. I wanted to take the boat to the fireworks this year. Years ago (shortly after the Chinese invented them) when I lived up home, the city had the fireworks at the park on Lake Michigan. We would go early and get a good spot way up on the sand dunes. Never saw better fireworks then those over the big lake. From the anchorage in Boggy Bayou we will be able to see both Niceville Quote

Here it just clouds up in mid October and stays that way until the 5th of July, with a bit of mist here and there to keep things green. Seven inches in one day would wash the moss right off the north sides of our trees, houses, and cars. Quote

We have moss and grit and only about a couple hours apart. From rain forest to desert with alpine inbetween. Sea level to 14,000 ft in 90 min. from 212 inches of rain a year plus to less than 2 inches and only 30 miles apart. Quote

Capn Trey Posted July 2, 2003 Posted July 2, 2003 Craig, We got 7.6 inches on tuesday here in Grand Bay but I guess thats what we get for living on the gulf coast smack dab in the middle of Hurricane and tropical storm country. It is finally clearing up here to your west as T.S. Bill moves farther north. Hopefully it will be gone for good before the fourth. Quote
