Getting ready to start my ECO 18 build For non structural waterproofing can one epoxy coat with 4 oz cloth substitute for 3 coats of epoxy? Thinking of using it on non structural applications ( under deck, frames, under gunnels, ) for waterproofing in addition to 10 oz cloth where needed.

Great project and a great memory made Wow. I have those same pliers with a short handle. They were my dad’s, and must 75 - 80 years old at least. My favorite tool. I had been searching for years to see who made them with no luck.

Thanks Alan I’ll leave the chine flats. Chine slap makes for very uncomfortable ride I’m wondering whether adding just 4 inches in length is worth all the extra work. The boat is so well proportioned. The 4 inches is to maintain the overall proportions of the boat, but I def want an extra foot in length, giving me space behind the leaning post for fishing do you think adding a foot, without adding any beam would look ok? Would make my build a lot simpler Thank you….Moose

Marissa ride questions My plan is for a 60 Zuke , same weight as Graham’s 40 Some builders say boat would benefit from trim tabs. Prefer not to have to do that. I had a similar skiff, an outboard foil solved the issue, faster planing and kept the bow down. Lotus recommends moving the console fwd. I may a bit, also will put batteries in the fwd part of the console if needed Im going to stretch the stern one foot and add 4 inches of beam ( 2 inches on each chine flat at the beam to keep,the overall proportions of the boatl. The length should help. Concerned that chine slap may be an issue with the larger chine. Everything still just paper and pencil. Considering options before I start my cuts Thoughts?
