I am inching closer to laying down the sole - still lots to do beforehand, of course. Other than looking nice before it is sealed up tight (glued down), why would I want to paint bilge space which I have no access to? The outer compartments of my build will receive foam board flotation with plenty of drainage space underneath. My plywood was epoxy encapsulated X3 and then covered with 1708 glass. Under those circumstances, what does painting gain me? And for that matter, why paint the compartments holding the fuel tanks? Same conditions apply. Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much. I have found the right size Moeller tanks, a 40 gallon in front of a 38. Reportedly 6 - 8 week back order but no worries as I am still doing all the tabbing and below deck fiberglassing (a drag). Trying to convince myself painting the bilge would be a good thing, but unclear why given it will be an outboard and all the bilge spaces will never see daylight.

Hello, I am finishing up interior glass reinforcements and tabbing on Hull # 8 and would like to know what fuel tanks are being used or recommended? I would like to use a two tank configuration, and I suppose I would prefer plastic. To be honest, my ignorance of fuel systems is pretty impressive! Thanks for any and all input, Bill Greenwood, SC

Hello all. I’m building an OC 24 and have a question about the longitudinal members attaching to the stem, some of which require considerable bending. Once fitted, is the stem joint glued first, allowed to set, and then everything aft glued? Or do it all at once or in reverse. Any tips appreciated.
