False security! I saw this demonstrated at a trade show in Atlanta, 6 or 7 years ago. And notice... the guy uses a hot dog. Not his finger. It's fairly easy to keep your hands out of the blade. Most table saw accidents I've seen involve kick-backs. Few saws in mill shops have the riving knife installed, because you're frequently doing dado and rabbet cuts. If I thought that accidents were inevitable, I'd have gotten out of the business years ago, but I have seen my share of carnage... To me, the table saw is the most respect worthy piece of equipment in the shop. Thanks... I say... Thanks for giving me cold chills first thing in the morning, son. ;D

LOL! Used to. (See Fintan's Wedding thread.) Only little ones here, ocasionally... and with hurricanes. Oh, and lots of waterspouts.

It's been pretty hectic around here. My hull is still in the frame stage. Ready for sheeting. Meanwhile, I've been able to rough cut the ply and epoxy coat the inside surface of some of it. I've also managed to spend a little time at work, making parts. Here's my glorified version of a seat, and the decking I plan to put at the bow. (El Toro style.) I just epoxy coated my mast, and have it slow-turning with a rotisserie motor to avoid sags. Notice the dirty cat box, and the chicken feed??? (I'm sure Konrad will. : ) ;D Hopefully, next weekend, (When everyone has gone home.) I'll be able to drag her out and get some plywood on her.

Hmmm... They're rated at 500 lbs working load. I'm not going to get close to that with the mainsheet on a 38sq ft sail, am I?

Yes, I'm still working on the pram. ;D I happened to get my hands on a nice, bronze gooseneck that will work just right for my sail rig. Of course now, I find myself looking at going with all bronze hardware. I know it's pricey. I know it's overkill... But I like the stuff. An 8 ft. boat won't take that much. It will outlast the boat. and I'll still have it for a future project. Anyhow... Jamestown Distributors has these... I guess they'd work fine for a small sail and 1/4" line... Any suggestions for other sources? Thanks 8)
