I have seen a couple up to 15'. Just might have to stretch one of them a few feet. I might just have to go out and buy an old ihba drag hydro and retool it and pull a mold off from that.

Good Day to all. Would anybody here happen to know where a person could get some Hydroplane plans?? I looking for something in the 18'-20' range for drag racing. It can't be to wide, and must hold an outboard. Thanks a bunch for any help. Scott

Not bad, allot of measuring and marking. I used a feather board, some call it a finger board. I don't have a pic of it. Basically push the contraption up to the hull or what ever, keeping it plum. Then tighten the clamp to hold the fingers tight, then transfer to the wood. Comes in handy when going from the floor to the deck, for a bulkhead.

I had my crystal ball out a couple of weeks ago. Well I think I'm in bad shape at 40ish. Thank God the ball was broken, I can only guess what 60 has instore for me. Boat building will get my mind off from that ugly thought.

Frank I'm sure they won't think much of it, unless there is moaning coming from the room. Yes I do the massage thing at $35.00 a pop and the electric shock stuff. I also find that stretching the old hammy's does the trick. And the not so fun crunch's. I take full advantage of the times that I have no pain. To be young again.

Well lets see. I used to build boats, about 15 year sago or so. I was getting the itch to do it again. WAS. Well my back is crap and I sit all day on the job, most of the day. My back has gone out several times in the past year, from sitting on my back side doing nothing. So I thought what the heck lets go build a boat and work the back, back into shape. Oh I built "plastic" boats, as the wooden builders call them. And I'm in the middle of my next "plastic" boat. The wood work on the plug is done and the nasty dusty part is next. I forgot how fun it was build boats. I started out with the plan to build a 14' boat to tool around on mountain lakes. Well that 14' boat has turned into 20.4', no flotation over 20'. I will be able to put an insert into the mold and build my 14', for small lakes. And have my 20' for ripping up the bigger lakes with. I wasn't planning on building and selling any, but some people have showed some interest in the little one. And my brother wants my daycruiser, so I'm going to push him into a small one, he just traded in his Nissan truck. His car will pull the 14', makes sense to me.Thats about it for now, I want to do some snooping around this cool site. See ya latter.

Yup first post. I went through this when I started building boats, piece of cake. The coast guard stopped coming around, retired and never replaced or something like that. If they do come around and you want him to leave, and like now. Just ask him what they plan to do about the MILLIONS of (automotive and the like) batteries that they dumped off the west coast into the ocean. That worked for me. They do send you a bunch of info that needs to be fallowed to the letter. Like floatation and lighting, but it's all easy. I saw photos from a local builder, with his 18' jet. He had to sink it several times, one of them with power plant fuel and sand bags for weight of the passengers. Can you say $$$$$$$$. He had to scrap the motor. Well thats it.
