Hi Jim, Thank you. It's the E-mail address you gave me on Wednesday. I tried to contact John Pruitt but have not yet received a response. I believe I inadvertently made all your previous posts on the Kingston 15 a current thread. My apologies to the forum moderators and members if this caused a problem. The photos and your description of the boat along with Jon Hyland's excellent renderings on his website have convinced me that it is the boat I will build. I read your comment about the lee helm tendency on the test sail. That combined with the possible change in CE using a centerboard in lieu of dagger board are two issues I will be dealing with as well, I guess. Thanks again for generously sharing your know-how with us amateurs. Bill

Hello Jim Stumpf, I posted an inquiry about the Kingston 15 on a different thread. Still learning how to navigate this site. The comparison you made between the Vacationer and the Kingston 15 here actually answered my question. I'm a senior single handed sailor. This boat looks ideal for my sailing grounds (Barnegat Bay, NJ, Chesapeake Bay, the ICW , maybe even a B.E.E.R trip). Your gallery illustrating the capsize attempt was very reassuring. After dragging my feet for two years, not really comfortable with the unballasted Weekender or Vacationer. I'm sure they're great boats and beautiful versions have been built. But at 68 years of age I need a boat that will compensate for my lack of agility and that will heave-to easily to allow for frequent trips to the head ;D. The Kingston 15 is It! I also consider the kick-up centerboard a must and will do the same. Happy sailing is 'round the point! take care, Bill

Hey all, I've been a member since last October, but haven't made posts 'til now. Have been procrastinating for two years ,undecided on the boat to build, until now. I will appreciate members' comments on the Kingston 15, its construction and sailing characteristics. My sailing grounds will be the bays of southern new jersey, Chesapeake Bay and the ICW. I believe I read somewhere that there was a lofing error on the plans. Would you know if this has been corrected on the currently offered planset? Thanks very much, Bill
