Well it was a mad dash over the weekend, but we flipped the 42 over today. With any luck the hull will be glassed by the end of next weekend. I'll post pics later. Tim

I'm no expert, but I know that baltic birch is the preferred ply for concrete forms involving curves. It's very strong pliable and stands up to those wet conditions without treatment so I imagine it wouldn't be to bad for building boats. I looked at some 1/4" last month and it was sanded on both faces and was 7 ply

Well here she is, got the sides on and tomorrow starts the filleting ;D The ugly one is me :

Good luck P. Luckily I have a handy river in my backyard. Of course I'd have to cut down abot 50 trees to get the boat there So I can drive around the block I guess.

Finally got the sides in place so now work can move along. I also set the cradle I made on my trailer, this will make it loads easier to move around to work on. Anyway here's the latest shots. Tim

Well I didn't get much done this weekend except get the sides joined. Hopefully this week I can make more progress.

I toyed around with building the Zephyr and am not sure why I didn't. Be sure to keep us posted on the full sized version so we see how it goes. Good luck in class. Tim

I've been prowling around for about a month and figure I'd chime in finally. I'm building a boat of my own design (with the help of FREESHIP). Anyway here are some basic stats: LOD 14' beam 62.5".
