Hello all, I am quite sad to do this but circumstances require that I pass this project on to someone else. I have a link to the Craigslist Ad below. The hull/bulkhead seems are glassed on the inside and it is ready for interior framing, exterior fiberglassing/finishing, etc. I purchased the plans for hull #55 quite a while ago and have been storing the partially completed hull in my garage. I also have a trailer purchased new in 2010 and only used to transport the hull to California when I moved. Please consider taking a look at the ad and make me an offer. I am thinking $1000 might be reasonable. Includes hull, remaining plywood needed to complete the project, some RAKA epoxy, fiberglass tape, and the trailer. I am about an hour north of San Francisco. I second Noah's. I had a good experience with them and am happy with the Meranti plywood I purchased. At the time of purchase (two years ago), Noah's was the cheapest for Meranti ply that I could find. Very helpful customer service as well.

It sounds like a hatch in the rear bulkhead will be the way to go for me...and I really liked the "clean" topside of the rear deck. I am curious if anybody has found an aftermarket hatch manufacturer that they are happy with? As for the front deck hatch, I was thinking about using shockcords. It seems possible to have them at a length that will create enough tension to avoid any rattling of the hatch cover, and yet still be able to lift the hatch and unclip the cord. It will probably require mounting the other end of the shockcord far enough from the opening to have a piece long enough to allow for adequate tension, but still be able to pull the hatch up far enough to unclip/clip. The key will be figuring out a place to mount it in such a way as to not have the darn thing in the way of what you are stowing. Has anybody else used shockcords on their fore hatches? Any thoughts on my "shockcord theorem?" (for which I received the nobel prize on galactical hatch security during my stint at MIT). BTW, Joe...what lake is that? I lived in Portland Oregon for 10 years...that kind of looks like Detroit lake?

Thanks for the photos Jeff. For those of us still in the process of building, it is always inspiring to see Graham's design in action. I noticed in that last photo that you located the rear hatch in the bulkhead rather than in the deck. After having time to try everything out, what do you think about this arrangement? Also, have you had any trouble with the hatch leaking? Finally, who manufactures that hatch, and where did you purchase it? Also, anybody else have any thoughts about the benefits/drawbacks of locating the rear hatch in the bulkhead rather than in the deck?
