I've built two small B&B designs and have not been coming here since I'm thinking "power" for a next project.BTW,I spend a lot of time over at the Bateau forum.A while back a fabulous boat pick showed up but nobody would identify it.Later I came cack here by chance and there it was!,the outer banks 20! Some of you guys who get around a lot need to introduce this beauty over at Wooden Boat forum.Even those guys couldn't find fault with this masterpiece.It's as though Graham was reading my mind.Where would I have to go to see this design in the flesh? I could see myself building a O20 also! Rob

Just got off the phone with Aircraft Spruce customer service.She had to put me on hold and call the buyer for this item.The answer I got was that their okoume is manufactored to BS 1088 standard,but is not stamped as such,and that has something to do with the large quantities they buy. I got no real answer to the odd pricing where 1/4 is less than 5/32. Do we have an Atlanta forumite who could take a look at this stuff? Rob

Anybody checked out Aircraft Spruce as a plywood source.They are in driving distance for me.They are listing okoume 5/32 for $29 per sheet.The strange thing is that 1/4 is less :? Rob

As B&B project number two,I'm thinking of building a pair of Divas.I have no experience with sea kayaks.Does Diva need a rudder? Should I just go ahead and put one on anyway? Also,I want these babies to be as light as possible so what is the thinnest okume I can use? I'm thinking of building one each for me and my dad.He is 76,but hikes 25 miles a week and has just taken up mountain biking,so paddling should be a piece of cake Rob

Been lurking around hear for some time and am now getting serious.I've been looking for a boat to build that can motor with my 3.5 hp sailboat outboard.I've decided on the Spindrift 11. I love a challenge.Is there any way I could do this in 40 days that I have till vacation? I can find the time,but is there enough time to "cure" before moving to the next stage of construction? Rob

My largest sailboat is only 21 feet, so I am not looking for a tender.I do however have a surplus outboard that came off a boat about three boats ago. I would like to build small boat that could be reasonably powered by this 4 hp motor.I really would like to be able to plane with two adults aboard.The Spindrift 12 is at the top of my list.Am I asking too much? Are there other designs that I should consider? Any advice will be much appreciated. thanks, Rob Eades
