Thanks PAR and Garry, I'm doing exactly what you said to me,looking prospects and asking for more information over forum.It seems that my idea about overpowering PS 22 wasn't good. Looking to OB 20 Garry,I must believe everything you wrote.Though I am retired now,and I cannot spend whole day for building, two years looks to me quite enough.I was concentrated on S&G method and here I found for side planking Ashcroft method.Does it mean to use hundred clamps as I saw on some pictures (lot of new tool to by). How much complicated is this, compared with S&G. Garry, looking to your last thought, with 65 years I have not much time, decision must be done now so that preparation can start this winter.In the meantime I'm just starting to build Gentry's SOF rowboat Whitehall. Hi, I've read on some topic about trying sail boats to reach semi displacement speed with stronger ob (Hartley 18) but didn't find was it successfuly done. Currently, I have very fast WA powerboat and cruise with her on 25-30 knots.Problem is that my wife like cruising about 18-20 knots,the boat cannot go in our garage and my cruising cost me 6.5 gal of fuel per hour.We decided to sell a boat and not by a new one, but build her.I thought it could be a garaged motor trailer sailer( all in one ). Is it too much, i don't know,so I need more information. Ladislav

Hi, I am novice,looking for building low powered boat which will be garaged on trailer.I found some options but when I looked on site of PS 22 I thought if she can be powered with more hp to reach speed as OB 20 has, I can get a boat with excellent sailing and motoring performance.Clever me. I have already wrote about these ,but on existing topic "How about a P 22" (24.Jan. 2013.) and get kindly reply only from Hilironde. I am asking designer,via forum if it is correct,and forum again for next informations. Which can be maximum motor power and speed for PS 22 and 2-3 person on her.Minimum will be about 15 knots (calm condition). Is it possible to shorten tabernacles,or make them (in upper part) removable. If not,looking to OB 20 which is too high is it possible to make pilot house removable. Which boat is easier to built. My wife and me need a boat for visiting beaches near our summer house on north Adriatic sea and after whole day went back quickly if necessary. Best regards,Ladislav from Croatia

Hi, I am new and my name is Ladislav. Looking for building and using low powered boat.My first choice was Maertens Nina 22 (original Ninigret 22 by Atkin) but I changed to Princess Sharpie 22.I like to sail again, but my wife like after whole day of being somewhere around, return home as soon as possible.So I need now sailing boat with outboard in well with long cockpit (I am 6' 5"). My summer house is on North Adriatic sea ,where in summer the weather is calm with afternoon breeze or moderate to stormy NE gale,when nobody is out.House has garage where boat will be situated on trailer. As mentioned boats has similar bottom shape and draft (this is my amateur opinion) is it possible to mount stronger (30 hp) outboard engine trying to achieve semi planning speed (15-18 knots) like Ninigret/Nina.If not, what can be max.power and weight of engine. Second,as the height of garage entrance is only 6' 4", is it possible to design removable tabernacles. Otherwise Princess looks fantastic and suits all our needs. Regards, Ladislav from Croatia
