Hi everyone,
I consider my family and me very fortunate in having had Lance sell us his beautiful boat. After a brief sea trial on a glassy Rangitoto Channel on Thursday I towed her 600-odd kms south to her new home in Paraparaumu. Our first fishing trip, with all 5 family members aboard,yesterday (Saturday) didn't have the fish jumping into the fish boxes, but we got one for dinner, and were further blessed with several sightings of Orca pods between the mainland and Kapiti Island. The boat drove superbly in a little more sea than on Thursday, the space and stability for all 5 of us plus our neighbour as guide was great and the kids (and the wife) had a ball. We saw more than 40mph on the run home. The boat would have gone faster but the girls chickened out. I'm a very happy camper having seen Lance's attention to detail and the decisions he made about design and equipment. Thanks Bud - and I hope you build yourself another sometime soon!
