  1. Your local landfill should take it.
  2. OK, y'all have got me scared now! Guess the solution is to have a 3D party.
  3. Not being an expert, I'm sure someone else will chime in, but I understand that wood flour absorbs the epoxy. Meaning you will be using more and adding to the weight of the boat. Later,
  4. OK, guess I'll have to get serious and order the right stuff. Will save the gallon of West for those warm sunny less humid days. Thanks for the help!
  5. Not crazy about West myself. Hard to mix small batches at 5:1. However, I can get it locally and at a "family" discount. However (again), I may need to go ahead and order Raka or something in a larger quantity, along with the other stuff I'll need when I get serious on the CS17. Not sure about the Amine Blush. I kinda pictured it as more of a waxy film. But then you may be right.
  6. Hey Guys, I've been using the West System epoxy (105 Resin and 205 Hardener). The last couple of times I used it I got a tacky orange residue on top of the finished surface. I can clean most of it up with a rag soaked in acetone but the first disk or two on the orbital sander really gets gummed up. The time before last it turned cold (30s) before it set up good and last time it got warm and real humid before it set up good. Any ideas?
  7. Nevermind then. Just trying to share some progress and yall take it as demeaning the value of the centerboard.
  8. Merry Christmas, Spent yesterday planing the centerboad. Making lots of sawdust. Back porch looked like it had snowed. [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin]
  9. Didn't mean to demean the centerboard. It does look like a tricky thing to build. Had to reglue one of my laminates this morning. Must have squeezed it too tight or didn't get enough glue there to begin with. Been sanding the skiff all morning. Hope to move it into the weight room tomorrow and paint it. Later,
  10. Its progress. Not much, but I did some actual work on my CS 17 today. Laminated the centerboard. The skiff I'm completing is in the background. Have to repaint it. Learned first hand the folly of not reading all the old messages on this board. If I had, I would have known the industrial enamel wouldn't hold up and every leaf that fell on the boat left a stain. So I'm sanding it down and gonna put a better quality of paint on it. Later, [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin]
  11. So. With the bestowing of Hull #110 the parallel dimension has been broken. Though I did see and A-10 once while paddling Turkey Creek on Eglin AFB. Oh, well. Guess I'll have to live with all the difficult straight lines, curves and oblique circles of the designation 109. Later, Wade
  12. The parallels are amazing! Don't tell me. You're a 51 year old, divorced, CPA. That would be scary! I'm sure they will sort it out directly. Wade [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin]
  13. Hey Steve, Oyster, Met Bobby today. Great guy. Nice shop. The Swamp Witch is even more impressive in person. The Gulf Coast region has some beautiful places. If you're into canoing the area has some great padding creeks. Lots of rivers and lakes for fresh water fishing. And of course the bays and gulf for saltwater fishing. Of course I'm a little bias. Later Wade
  14. Yeah, it was good to see someone else's work up close and to see how they do things. You've got a great shop. (need a green emoticon here) The plane worked well in fixing my bow. I've put a couple of more pictures below of the skiff. It's kinda bandaged with duct tape right now. It should be healed by morning. Hope it doesn't rain so I can work a little more. If it does rain I may go canoeing. See all the canoes in the back ground. [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin]
