I look forward to seeing more progress. I am planning on ordering plans and starting construction next month and pictures of a build are always nice for reference. I was a bit surprised though at the title on this thread. Seeing as yours is hull #18, I have only seen pictures of 3 boats. One was Chick's old boat, another on the forum here, and yours. I wonder if pics exist of any of the other boats or if they have even been built. Keep up the good work. John

I don't think I'd lose the doghouse either. I am planning on building this boat as well starting next month if all goes as planned, and I was hoping for a boat with a bit more shade than it has as drawn as well. My uses would be along the coast of the Carolinas and down in Florida along the ICW, so the shade is a big deal. My plan is to continue the roof lines all the way back to the rear of the boat, much like Doug Hylan did on his 29' Marsh Hen http://www.dhylanboats.com/marsh_hen_plans.html. I am waiting to see what Graham thinks about the idea before I proceed. The biggest issue I see is the low roof height, but a couple access openings on the roof with removable panels can make accessing the boat easier. While the Marsh Hen is 9' longer than the OB20, the overall look would be similar. I plan to make my front windows hinged in order to get a good breeze going through as Chick suggested. I think if you are really looking for something to cruise Powell there are better options out there than to hack up the OB20 to suit. It doesn't do the boat justice to stray far from the intended look. John

Hey all, I'm going to the show in Georgetown SC on Oct 20th and wondered if there are going to be any B&B boats there this year. I am particularly interested in an Outer Banks 20 or Ocracoke 20. If so please let me know. I'd like to get some firsthand experience at what they are like up close. Photos are great but can only tell so much of the story. The OB20 is what I am really hoping will be there since it is exactly what I am looking for in a boat, provided it can carry more than just 2 people. I will likely have no more than 4 on board at any one time, typically only 3, and wondered if there was room for that many. Seeing it up close can answer that for me. John
