My fears were highest during the planning phase, hopeing all would work as I had planned. Once we started things went fast and concentration and action replaced fear, the cold beer after she was settled in her nest was the best! My three friends worked like a team and all went well.

This is my first try at utube, I'll try to fix it---I think I fixed it try again and let me know, the vidio is 25 min long but it repeats itself about half way, My neighbors 11 year old made the vidio and I thought he did a great job.

Thanks for the compliment. I have not decided what engine I will use at this point, my initial thoughts are for a 90 hp , but may consider a 70. Still a mountain to climb before I get there.

Mike, used thickened epoxy, the pipe extended above the the deck and I put a filet of thickened epoxy. Worked well. I also drilled a small hole in the low point of the pipe to let water drain when you are washing the boat and the water sometomes runs over the top into the chase pipe.

Finally!! She's upright! With the great help of three good friends, we constructed the gantry cranes and flipped her in lees than 3 hours. Happened so fast I didn't have time to get scared.

I have stalled a bit getting ready for Christmas. I bought 2 1 ton chain falls and plan to build the gantry cranes over the next few weeks, then flip her. (with help from some friends). You are welcome to come down and see and or help when I get ready, it's a scary thing to do and it only takes a few minutes when everything is ready. I'll let you know when the cranes are built.

I thought I would add this picture of my Marissa "flip" I used a single 1/2" rope a pulley and a rented machine, find the center of balance, lift and flip, flips very easily, stay back when she goes over center and or use another rope to hold her back as she will turn quickly. This is the same as Graham did it.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Thought I'd give an update. Getting close to the big flip! I am in process of resanding as my fairing is not so pretty, won't be perfect but will look good at 10 feet! I'm planning to build two gantry cranes with two chain falls and pullys to flip her. The biggest problem is the cross beams will have to be at least 14 feet up to clear the floor. Maybe right side up by Christmas.

I have another question, anyone have a plan for a ship's wheel I could make for a steering wheel?

I was wondering if epoxy laden sanding dust can be used for thickening for fairing?

A port a pottie is is like a life jacket Rarely used but essential in case of an emergency! ( especially as we get older! Ha.)

One of Graham's pictures of my Marissa, another note: this boat planes so easy there really isn't a "Hump" of any note.

I don't think I have a picture of the motor well, I am going down to Darien Ga. next week and I could take a picture then. It does need a hole for the steering shaft to go through about the same size as the hole on the starboard side, I used the same rubber sleeve as the one used to seal the hole where the steering cable comes through to seal the hole. I think Graham made a neater one by using a piece of plastic pipe the right size and a cap on the end on the port side. Hope that helps, thanks for the complement about my Marissa. I brought her to last year's mess a bout and Graham took some great pictures of her at speed.

I thought I might add a note to this, I have a Yamaha 40 on my Marissa, I can get about 28mph with 2 aboard and full of fuel. I find that is fast enough for me, I rarely go that fast. It's fine on smooth water at that speed, but can pound when water is rough. I have regular Teleflex steering, works very good and considerly less costly to install. Just my opinon. You build really looks good.
