Hey capt. I want to make a sail cover out of 25oz. canvas drop cloths from home depot, I have a litle sewing experience with kites, using velcro(easier to work with)would work beter than a zipper. also a can of scotch-guard would waterproof it. Ahh, I have great and grandoise plans..ZZZZZZ Mike

These pics were taken after beieng under a tarp most of this fall, Arizona dust storms fill all my boats with dust ,even when covered. I bought a vaccume just for the boats! it looks better whwn clean. The drybox acts as a strenghtener for the whole boat,but its fun to trip over. When I bought this it was posted on this web in the classifieds under cabinless weekender for sale Apr.2003 I think these are the only pic of this boat on the web,as the builder didnt post, except to sell. all Rakka epoxy. Finaly have pictures of the cabinless weekender, built By Jerry Manges of P.A. I named her "Jeannie's magic carpet" after my girlfriend who does'nt have a bottle... The wheel was falling apart when I got her,You can see in one of these pic's that I fixed it with braces. I replaced the mast ropes with beaded cable. Hey Bill, I always wanted a cabinless weekender,I even bought plans and started collecting material to build when a gentelman advertized a cabinless model on this forum, I snached it up fast! It was in PA. and I am in AZ. expensive trip to pick up but the boat is everything I was going to build,I will post Pictures tomorrow. Like I said I'm ashamed that I didnt build it, but that goes away when I take her to the lake!! Mike

This is hard for me to admit but I was to lazy to build a weekender, so I bought one already to go(now will you elect me president?) anyhoo, the boat has only one side-stay, and several outings in different kinds of weather,without any bad experiences YET. the builder said he thought it was overkill with two but I may add another one later. The boat creaks like an old ship when I change tack, once you tighten down the turnbuckles the mast seems pretty solid. I might also mention that this is a cabinless weekender,much easier to solo,lots of room, and also maintains a low center of gravity. Mike

I had the same problem, the two pulleys were rubbing together!! so I bought a quick link 1 1/2" that lowered one block and eliminated binding!! I am such a genious!!!! Mike

Im a self employed dental tech. and they wont give me a break!! I also have had diabetes since I was 21, Im 44 now dont need insurance screw them!! I make payments on my bills. saves me lots of money. Just put your own money in the bank for health care, and if youre lucky you can use the cash for a vacation!!

I just made beaded mast hoops out of the same type seat cover, they work great!! 1/8 stainless line 14''long w/aluminum farrules 20 bead s to the hoop took about 2 hrs Mike

If you are using epoxy, get a small propane torch, and while the mix is still fliid on the aplication,slowly run the torch over the sorface. this is not to heat, but to de-gass the epoxy, also DO NOT USE SOLVENTS!!! they will cause allergic reactions, and release free-radicals , not a good thing. vinigar is the stuff to use on claen up. mike
