kmrmike Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I've used an 1985 2.2 HP merc on my Spindrift 11 and it does not get up on plane. However, I built a fiberglass composite Spindrift and according to Graham it weighs about 20 lbs more than one built of wood. Weight 119 lbs without paint...Mike Quote
Steve Day Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I have a 10N and my 2.5 Merc is just a wee bit short on power to make it onto the plane with me (225#) on board. I'm pretty sure my son (at 150#) would be able to plane the boat with the 2.5 HP, but we haven't tried that yet. Another possibility might be me with a 3.5 HP. That should give you some reference.
