New CS 17 Owner thanks to Richard Whitney and Kokako

HI;

I have just completed the purchase from Richard Whitney for Kokako. I am very new to this forum but already have learned quite a bit that will help me purchase an outboard. I had been looking for a certain boat that met requirements. I had the following list:

Great design and wonderful looking boat on the water

Large enough cockpit for four people 

Easy rigging

One person sailable and launching

Ample storage

Safe but has some speed. No BOOM to hit my head

Connection to the US, I am a US citizen and a NZ citizen

I just happened to browse the net and came across Kokako. At first I was not sure it seemed too good to be true. So Richard took me on a test sail and after about ten minutes, i knew it was for me. The added benefit is meeting Richard. I hope we can sail together on this and his new boat. He has been terrific.

I am originally from New England and still have a small place on Peaks Island, Maine. I sail there but use a Chrysler Buccaneer and an old 20 foot Balboa. I have a feeling that Kokako may spoil me.

You will find a great bunch of people here and lot of useful material about sailing the CS17.  One of your trips to the US might line up with a B and B gathering.
