Beginning Two-Paws 9 Construction this week

Have purchased all of my woods, expoxy, misc. parts. etc., to begin construction of my nesting dink for my sailboat.  Will be so happy to be able to get rid of the heavy inflatable that has been crowding the fore-deck of my Hunter.  Curious if anyone else in process at this time?  Will add images as things progress....   Bob McIntosh

Hi Bob,

That will be a great dinghy for you. Back in the 80s I had a similar nesting 8' pram on my 28 footer. I towed it a lot, but for open water passages, I usually had it on deck on top of the cabin house. It blocked visibility too much for ICW motoring. It was great for rowing back and forth and had the capacity for three people and supplies in most conditions. For a while, I had a Honda 2 hp which was reliable until it got drenched once. I sold it for parts.

Your 9 footer will be even better. What size Hunter do you have? Where are you planning on cruising?

Garry ..  Into day three and will begin assembling transom's and side pieces on Monday ater epoxy sets up on the parts.  Still in the mid 70's here in Seattle and this afternoon we are heading out for an over-nighter to a little town about 12 nm SW, Gig Harbor to spend the nite then back home to our moorage at Des Moines late Sunday.  We formerlly had a Hans Christian 41 which we sailed up and down the coast, north into Canadian waters and Vancouver Island.  Sold her a couple of years ago after brining her back to bristol condition.  She had been sailed from Baltimore to Singapore (when the young bride became pregnant and couldn't continue on)and they shipped her back here to Port Townsend.  Miss the solid feel, but not the sluggish performance in our light airs and all the brightwork.

We bought our current a couple of years ago, a Hunter 35.5 Legend which is nimble and roomy and can achieve hull speed here on Puget Sound without having to have a gale blowing from the SW.  Have made some additional improvement and am happy with how she handles and overall appearance.  After I finish the Two Paws in a couple of months I plan on removing the holding tank (old SS) and replacing with a new Ronco tank, along with all the lines.  As you well know and can understand, the projects never cease.  But then where would I rather be ...  weeding Rhodedendrons??  Have a great weekend and thanks for the tips on the connectors.  As mentioned to you earlier will be using your design along with the Perko connecters on the top section.
