CS17 #218, Kit , What Now?

I'm seeing a boat taking shape! thanks Ray for your advise on mortises, I've completed the aft deck beams and am now looking at the foredeck. However, I'm not sure about the order of construction here. Graham sent me a short list to get me started, but I've finished that. I've epoxied in the inwales, seat stringers, keelson, transom, and both bulkheads. I've not yet done the filets on the chines or forward of the keelson. I also scarfed the seat sides. Now I'm not sure how to proceed, do the plans usually come with a list? I've read all the notes on the plans, but can't really determine the order in which to do it all. Thanks for any advise you all may have.

OK, now for the question. I had to be creative in the placement of the bottom stringers due to the fact that they wouldn't lie flat in the suggested position, and I didn't want to risk puckering the hull by forcing them. So, my question is, does that look like enough support or should I add another stringer up closer to the fwd bulkhead?

The building process is fun and rewarding, but my progress is very slow. I spend so much time in preparation of each step (well, OK, call it fussing and worrying), that I find the weeks slipping away and summer is half over. Perhaps I'll re-think my goals and make the building fun last all winter, and do the big splash next spring. (That way I can really do alot of fussing and worrying!)

Sukie, the first thing that occurs to me when I look at those stiffeners is to wonder if they will trap water.  It looks as though any water that gets under the forward seat will pool at the bulkhead in the corners of those stiffeners.  It won't be very much water, but even so I do all I can to eliminate such places.  For example, I found that water pools in the little space ahead of the centerboard trunk, so I just glued in a wedge of 4mm that effectively eliminates that puddle (I hope).

Yikes Jeff, something else to keep me awake at night! You are indeed correct, it looks like water could pool just forward of the stringers. I may cut a small wedge, or perhaps drill a hole to allow water flow. I guess I'll also add one more strip just for insurance. I'm beginning to think I should have done what Ray suggested, that is omit the stringers altogether and use heavy 'glass on the bottom. I think I would have if he hadn't made the comment about it being a bear to apply.

Ray, I hope to stop in to see your work someday, (and to thank you for all your valuable advise). I head down the coast about 2-3 times a year, just always in a hurry to git there.
