JeffM Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 A year after I cut out the parts for my Birder 2, I've finally started work on it. I've made the butterfly and stitched. Now I'm looking without success for the angle at which the sides meet the deck so I can bevel the inwales. There are only 7 pages of plans, but I can't find that angle anywhere. Anybody know what I'm missing? Quote
Charlie Jones Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Jeff- you have to kinda do it by eye. Take a strip of the deck ply and use it to lay across as a guide, then bevel til it sits right. You'll have to slide it around and check various angles. But there's no precise "angle" you can bevel to. The angle changes as you go from bow to stern. Quote
jollymon258 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 When you get to within about a foot of the bow and stern, the deck needs to be pretty much flat, or you'll never get it sucked down to the sides. the angle varies from flat at the bow and stern, to what matches the bulkheads. Quote
