CS20

Hello,

I've bought CS20 plans to review and I'm wondering if there is anyone in my area that would allow me to take a look at their CS20 sometime in the coming months.

I'm undecided between the CS20 and the Bolger Chebacco, so I'd like to be able to see one of each prior to making any commitment to build.

My current project is nearly complete, and I think I'd like to start another project this fall.

I've been on both boats...very different! The Chebacco is a cruiser with a small cabin and the CS20 is more of a sport boat. The Chebacco is a foot wider and seems like a much bigger boat. The Chebacco is harder to rig and requires wooden spars...another challenge. The Chebacco is heavier and although without ballast, it is much more of a project to build. Ultimately just a different animal...but worthy of consideration if that better suits your needs. Whichever way you decide to go, you cant go wrong.

I am a fellow Tolmanite. 21 foot Widebody which will be finished this spring. I'm stuck between the Chebacco and the CS20. I like 'em both but I can only build one at a time !

Bingo! Norman, Essex would be ideal. I travel from Woburn to Rockport on a regular basis for work. I like to see a Princess 22 as well, if I'm not imposing.

Ray,

It used to be called Muddy River, but someone decided that that wasn't a very classy name, so they changed it to Sebago Cove Inlet. I'm sure the river is much less muddy now than it was with the old name. Anyhow it's a short boat ride to Sebago. This will be our first year in our own place, so we're pretty excited about that. I still have to put the newly aquired used trailer up on blocks. Does that make us trailer trash !!!

All I have is a Princess under construction, but you wouldn't be imposing. I'm quite happy with her so far. I'll let the owner of the cs20 know you're interested in taking a look. Depending on your schedule, that may require a trip to Ipswich as well. I suspect they will be sailing soon.

It's one think to see photos of a boat, but to be able to walk around one makes all the difference.

Many thanks to Norm and Tim for allowing me to take a look at their boats, a Princess, and a CS20 this weekend.

The Princess was keel up at the time and it's impressive to see how wide this boat is. The craftsmanship is outstanding. The CS was on it's trailer and that's the only way you can tell how much people carrying capacity this boat has. It is bristol finish with a lot of clear wood. None of the pictures that I've seen have done these boats justice. They are quite impressive. Both boats are fine examples and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to view them.
