I hope to start buiding a Stevenson weekender as soon as it is warm enough to work in the garage and I was wondering if there was anyone else working on a similar project in Winnipeg?

3 years now since I built my weekender .Now working on the vacationer.

the vacationer sailed well and for someone who's only experience on water was in a canoe I was quite surprised how easy it is the handle.

take your time building ,its a wonderful project and take lots of pictures

Florin Pinta bult a Vac up there in the Peg some years ago. Haven't heard from him in a long time Eh. I think he was getting into river boats or went back to building aircraft.

what kind of boat have you built. Up here small sailboats are not popular.

we have a great bay to sail in but the weather can change so fast that most boats are built bigger with the motors to match.I had a 48lb electric motor on my weekender but had to get rescued a few times so i'm looking for something a little stonger .

I picked up my plans while i lived in New Brunswick, but since moved back to Newfoundland. I'm building (trying) a Vacationer as well. As you Andya, boats around here are built for the gales of the north atlantic. it can get quite nasty quickly. But as many occasional sailers, i'll be going out fairweather sailing and never too far from shore. At least this boat will have over 3ft of extra length from my previous boat that i sailed out here.

As long as my first mate can bail out the cockpit faster than can be washed in i'll be happy.

Winnipeg. I don't know of any, but i'll keep my eyes open.
