Greetings

A couple of you may remember me, I finished my weekender back in 2002 and the last couple of years have not had her on the water at all. I have been getting the itch again to do a couple mods, and get her back out on the water this year. I have the luxury of being able to store her in my fathers warehouse, so besides a little dust, she's in as good a shape as the day she was finished. I visited her at lunch today and apologized for the lack of attention I have given her over the years. I am glad to see the pocket yacht support forums still alive and well. Glad to see lots of new names, and still a few old ones.

Its nice to see that you had not lost the link. Nice shot of your boat. A better picture is with water surrounding the bottom portion of them too. :wink:

Good to hear from you, Scott. Boats have a way of calling to us, and I'm glad you heard the call.

Is it going to be the first weekend of June again? I have family (wifes side) in Elko and Savage that we visit 3 - 4 times a year. This lake must be fairly close. My wife might actually approve of me going. Great picture from the previous years messabouts. Looks like some beatiful/interesting boats and who doesn't like a potluck. Looks like a great time. I will run it by my better half.

would you believe that the picture you posted is the exact one that I printed out and stuck on my wall at work, to encourage me to finish the boat a few years ago.

Whenever anyone came up and said "I hear you are building a boat", I'd point to your picture and say "Yes, exactly like that one".

Get her in the water... its worth it.

Wow! Knowing I was able to help motivated someone all the way over in Ireland has made my boatbuilding adventure all the more worth while. I too had other Weekender builders photos pinned to my cube walls at work to inspire me, and help prove to everyone else that I was not crazy or at least not alone in my craziness. I probably owe the most thanks to Bob Butler and his beautiful fleet of weekenders he has built which I have spent countless hours gazing at here:
