John Weigandt Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I started another project that will involve fiberglassing. I have used pre made tape for seams and I have cut strips. Knife.. yuk it drags.. freys.. ruins the weave etc. Scissors OK.. but when you lift the cloth of course it alters the lay, and you end up with a raggety edge. My wife is a quilter.. :idea: :idea: :idea: :idea: She uses a Dritz rotary cutter for cutting cloth squares triangles etc. It's kind of Pizza Cutter Meets Exacto knife... Talk about abso friggin lutely straight clean cuts in fiberglass cloth.. I see this thing as being great for lots of trimming applications. Just lay the cloth on a scrap board, and cut the pizza. Quilters use a "self healing" plastic mat to cut on. Blades are about 3 1/2 bucks apiece .. so even if it dulls relatively quickly not a big deal. Why I didn't think of this before..
