Richard Whitney CS#70 Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 I am just in to process of installing the centreboard case in my CS17. I am interested in how people have been finishing the inside of the case. I have glassed it and filled all the weave so there is a smooth finish. I was planning to leave it that way as the inside of the case will not be exposed to UV. What are others doing? Richard Quote
Charlie Jones Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 exactly what I did, except that I put a goodly amount of silica into the final coats of epoxy on the inside glass. Then sanded real soon after it cured. I figure that that will help a great deal in resisting abrasion on the inside of the case. I see no need to paint or otherwise cover the epoxy on the case interior, particularly on a trailerable boat. Quote
Joe Nelson CS#35 Posted August 10, 2003 Posted August 10, 2003 I did the same as Charlie. No need for any kind of finish. If you wanted to make the surface slicker, you could coat it with epoxy mixed with graphite powder. Quote
