I am a Warbird aviation enthusiast. The aviation art gave me the incentive.

I start off with the idea of just the face. After seeing the result I would like to paint the enire Kayak like a shark as described.

I have had great summer fun with my newly built Curlew.I find it stable, nimble and quick. With the shark art now on it I am ready for some serious Kayaking this fall!

Does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to finish of the bow on my Curlew. Should one trim off the fabric close to the stitch, or should one trim back the fabric leaving an inch of martial, and then roll back the fabric and finish it off using a whip lash stitch? The bow is currently sown using a back stitch.

I have added two more photos to clarify my question. On frame 7', the arms and flat section are on the inside of the coaming. I would think the arms and flat section would under the coaming so that the arms and flat section are out of the way. As well, would one not lash the arm to the coaming so the flat section sits on the coaming. Comments would be appreciated. I am thinking building another frame so that the arm is on the outside of the coaming and changing the flat section so that it seats on the coaming. Then I would lash the coaming to the flat section.

Is it possible to get the offset of the keel at the former position of the stern (1 ') and bow (13')?

I am about to install the stern and bow on my curlew. I noticed in your Assembly Manual a bracket is placed at the one foot mark for the stern installation. What are the dimensions of this bracket. I didn't think this bracket is included in the Curlew plan. As well, I can not read the dimensions of the curlew in the back of the book. I would like to know the dimension for the bow former.
