Thanks PAR and Philip for the replies. I am thinking of something around 3 hp just to get me back if the wind dies. I can't see me rowing several miles back to the ramp and it's good to know that it will mount easily.

At the risk of starting a major furor with the sailing purists, I am wondering if anyone has hung a small outboard on their CS 17 and how the transom was reinforced to carry it.
