Thanks Lotus, I was just curious. The huge lakes I cruise in have lots of rocks and sunken Islands and its nice to have a reasonable idea of the depth for orientation, realizing of course that depth can change instantly when at speed and that eyes and local knowledge are most important. Also helps in looking for structure for fishing areas when cruising. Thanks again for letting us in on your talents. I'm curious how well the transducer works mounted on the chine flat. Does it work well at speed?

Thanks Lotus for including us on your build and launch. Very impressive! I bet you will get 2 more knots with the prop change, I had a similar experience on a 90 Yamaha 4 stroke on my 22 ft. similar hull type home build that was going over rev. at w.o.t. Gained 2 mph changing from 13 to 14 pitch, 32 to 34 mph. I will be curious to see how you do but really don't see the need for any more speed than you have.

I do want the pickup toward the stern as the range of the full tank is important to me in my waters (Large lakes in voyageurs National Park where I have a lake cabin where 40 plus miles without fuel is common).

I'm a little behind you Mike but just finished insulating and heating my garage so I'm back at it despite the below zero temps here in Minnesota. Here is a picture of my tank configuration that I will be working out soon. All the pics and ideas and advice are much appreciated!

I used cross bracing screwed to forms, rolled the boat out of the garage to the lawn on 3 dollys then used the bracing as handles on one side and pivot on ground side to turn over. Inwhales were not yet installed so the bracing supplied rigidity. Easily accomplished with 2 daughters and son in law. Then had them lift front while I walked a trailer underneath.

Thank you Mike for posting your project and Dale and Lotus for your input. Your Salty is beautiful Dale and an inspiration for me to keep plugging away. I have just finished a second cost of paint on the bottom of my Marissa (not from kit) and ready to turn over soon and start inside. Unfortunately winter will soon put an end to my work this year. I'm curious Dale what really flying means and what performance is with that engine, such as speed at WOT and ride and stability as I am debating hp choice myself right now. I'm not at all a speed freak but just curious. It will be nice following your builds Mike and Lotus and I will post some pics of mine as well soon. Bruce
