Thanks very much for the very pleasant welcome folks. I imagine I'll be bugging each and everyone of you for hints and the like as time goes on. I imagine it'll be sometime before I actually get started on the construction but I'm really looking forward to it. I did find a Vacationer being built here in Calgary. Florin, who is on this forum as well I believe and he's agreed to give me a little shop tour. Apparently, he's almost ready to launch. And as for Barry from Sammamish I can feel for you. I'm originally from a little place on the east coast called Antigonish and we've got all kinds of places (ie. Kennebecasis, Tatamagouche or Upper Middle and Lower Musquodoboit) that are hard to get your tongue around. Well until the 3rd beer at least. Hi just want to say hello and advise that I'm new here and plan to lurk about scanning your messages and ideas for the next little while. I have just ordered the plans for the "Vacationer" and look forward to the challenge of building my own boat. I've been a handyman for many years now but never actually built anything bigger than a box for a utility trailer so this is no doubt going to be a big project for me. I imagine it'll take me a year or so just to make room in the garage to start but I hope eventually to be able to post a few beautiful pics on the site as you previous owners have done.
