When you moved the cockpit to the hull sides, did you have to re-inforce the hull at all? I guess another way of asking this question is, does the deck provide support for the hull and what have you done now its not there?

It sounds like an easy way to make some room in the cockpit

Andrew,

yes I reinforced the the hull sides along the upper edge of the hull, I doubled up two 1 X 1 1/2's bent to fit the curve of the hull from the aft cabin bulkhead to the transom on each side of the hull. I also added vertical 1X1 1/2's every two feet to both strengthen the sides and allow for attaching 1/4 ply inside cockpit sides and 1 x 1 1/2 's across the bottom to support the flooring.
