charlesrider Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Ooooohhh! I love sailing in that area. My old stomping grounds. Buzzards Bay is an exciting place to sail and your account makes my heart thump. I can smell the smells, feel the wind, and hear the buoys. Jeff, might I arrange to go sailing with you? I have been wanting to check out a CS20 for a while now. I want to get a feel for it, see how it feels in the wind and seas of an area I know well so I can see if the project after the deck on the house might be a CS-20. I've got 2 kids I want to give the same kind of intro to sailing I had. My Dad built a 20' high-sided sharpie (a lot like an open version of Kirby's Norwalk Island sharpies) when I was a kid and we spent summers sailing it in and around Woods Hole. I remember it fondly but I was only 10 when he sold it. We used my uncle's Bristol 27 after that and then a Cal 40 and then a Cal 34. All in and around Buzzards Bay. Anyway, if this is something you would be open to, Eileen and I could bring my little Lone Star (13 ft plastic boat I can't find the pictures) and do some sailing and take turns getting a ride on your CS. JeffM Posted June 7, 2007 Author Posted June 7, 2007 Hi, Chad. I live in Brockton, MA and trailer to various ramps. The nearest ramp to me is probably in Fall River by Battleship Cove. I find it hard to plan daysails much in advance, but I'll sure keep you in mind. Where do you live now? Jeff Quote

charlesrider Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 The Quabbin would be fantastic, but alas the fishing lobby can pull it off, but we sailors just don't have the clout. I'm looking forward to trailering to bigger water. My kids live with their mom in VT so Champlain is an option, Narragansett Bay, Padanaram. 13 feet is too small for more than two. It also is too small for Buzzards Bay when the wind and current are doing their thing. I would appreciate it. I'm going to be in RI this weekend, but have family graduation and party to go to.
