I know you've got a hull. How about steering etc.

I've got a trailer that will haul a Weekender, and now I know how to turn out the rigging in a day and a half.

There are few weekends left.

How bad do you think they would miss you at work?

Ohhh man, I wish! Let's see.....no sails yet, but I've got the tarp and tape. No spars or mast, but I've got the 4x4's. No pullies or rope, but there's always ACE hardware. No rudder or helm, hmmm, maybe something temporary.

But then again, there's this pesky $9M computer upgrade this week at work. Crap, crap, crap, my timing sucks.

Thanks for the offer Mark, but I just don't see a way to get shook loose.

Oh come on. If you got hit in the eye with a soft ball they would understand you missing a few days.

Well if you can't get your boat in the water I can offer you a sail in ours.

We will be at Harding lake this weekend, and The Flyer will definitely be there. It's an easy 40 minute drive. A bit of sailing is good inspiration for boat building over the long winter. You can even see how some of the rigging etc. worked out on The Flyer and save a few steps later.

You've got my e-mail address, and I'm in the book so... this is an official invite for you and yours. Come on out for a bit of sailing and an afternoon on the beach.

That's awefully nice of you. I've been borrowing rides on my end of the country in an effort to keep motivated myself, and it certainly helps ... if nothing else to forget about your work woes for a little while, and for me, the boat building was more fun than ever following the sailing.
