LennieG Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 I will be for afternoon of Mar 4, and the start Mar 5. Quote
PAR Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 I hope to make it, but it depends on who and what drops in that week, for me to get the time. Quote
Alan Stewart Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 I'll be there with my new sailing canoe. Splashing today for first sail. Pictures to follow. Build album here: https://picasaweb.google.com/107469640725598007206/BBUFCCanoe?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCIOsp-T16eSKxwE&feat=directlink Quote
Joe Anderson Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Looks beautiful Alan. I hope your weather in Vandemere is as nice as it is here. Quote
Paul356 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Love that candy-apple paint job. Looks speedy. Nice design. Have a good race. Quote
Dale Niemann Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 She is a real beauty and I bet fast. I will be there on Friday afternoon and Saturday for the start. Hope to see you and Graham then. dale Quote
Action Tiger Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Oh, do I love me a sailing canoe! That is a nice looking boat, there, Alan. You should think about getting a job doing this. I wish you all safe (and fast) racing. Quote
Don Silsbe Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 WOW! Can't wait to see photos/videos of her in the water. How's Graham coming on Carlita? There've been no postings for two weeks. I take that as it is "crash & burn" time. Quote
Designer Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Don, We are definitely in crash and burn stage. Alan took the boat home late this evening, he will hook up with Dawn tomorrow and head south. The picture shows Alan peeking out from his penthouse suite as he adds the finishing touches to his accommodation. Carlita will go as a stealth boat or wearing 545 primer. The picture is from yesterday after adjusting the trailer to fit. We should get the finishing touches done, a quick test sail, load up and head south by tomorrow evening. Quote
Ken_Potts Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Do I see a wind-vane over Carlita's rudder or is that an optical delusion? Quote
Designer Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Ken, Yes, it is indeed a wind vane. I am off to finish the boat, this is our last day. Quote
Steve W Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 In grey it looks a bit sinister/military. Am I the only one smiling at the thought of Graham drifting by in the fog on stealth Carlita? I'm guessing anyone not involved in the EC would be wondering about what they just saw. Quote
Chick Ludwig Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Maybe a few cans of camo paint before launching.... Quote
