Garry
I've been thinking about building an Outer Banks 20 starting next spring. I've seen some of the build posts on the forum. I'd love to see more photos of finished projects. The Plan List says a kit will be available soon. Any predictions when? Is it at all possible to build it within a typical residential garage (~22' x 22')? The kit might make it more feasible since I wouldn't need as much laydown space. I'd probably have to make the hardtop detachable to get the boat out of the 6'8" door opening, but shouldn't be too difficult. Any other thoughts? Designer
Gary, The OB20 kit is finished. There are three levels of kit. If you email Alan he can send you the spread sheet with the options. It will be up on the web sit soon but he is currently working on the Spindrift page update.
keen2buildagain
Hi Garry, I am building the OB-20 and on the weekend flipped her over. My shed's working area is around 7.1mts x 3.2 wide and have no problems with room. I built her on a strongback with wheels so as to push her left to right in the shed to work on either side. I am going to make it a centre console or side... haven't decided as yet. Trev

Alan Stewart
I have updated the OB 20 page on our website with some details of the NEW OB-20 Kit we are offering. I am slowly getting to each model and posing the photo galleries that normally go out with our plans on a CD. This way everyone will be able to see these pictures for all models. I also plan to post download links for the material lists for the various models. Picture Gallery of OB 20 constuction will be up soon. In the mean time, check out the Bacon OB20 building blog for some good vicarious building. http://baconob20.blogspot.com/

Garry
Some interesting sites on the history of lobster boats (or Downeast style) designs. Great lineage. http://www.maineboats.com/online/boat-features/evolution-maine-lobsterboat http://downeaststyleboats.com/category/downeast-lobster/ http://www.powerandmotoryacht.com/lobster_boat_defined There also appears to be some good videos on Youtube.
