Hirilonde
When I had my contracting business I told my employees they weren't allowed to bleed on the work in progress. Go outside to bleed.
smccormick
I like your style. I would have moved along but it was hot and I had epoxy going off and a cluster fork going on with my clamping blocks. Rushing, it'll get me every time. Just glad I didn't have a saw in my hand. lenm
You are doing a great job with the hatches and waterproofing. Do you have an ideas how to glass the edges of the exposed bulkheads? I though about vac bagging any sharp edges to avoid the need to round them off, then build them up again (e.g. chine edges).
smccormick
I've knocked them off then put them back on. When I looked at the cost and time to bag everything vs. radiusing, I just couldn't justify it. I have, on the other hand, glassed internal, non-structural, low wear edges with a strip of glass. I don't have any problem with running the glass up the sides of a piece and then applying another piece on the edge/face. I am just careful when I sand to avoid going through the sharp edge. I wouldn't do this with hull bottom/chine areas, but bulkhead edges I wouldn't hesitate.

smccormick
The long and tedious task of fairing the interior edges and corners is nearly complete. A few coats of 302 high build added to create the illusion of progress.
lenm
I've been hanging out for an update - looking really good! I like the clean interior edges. Is that teak on the comings? re the 302, are you also using 'awlfair' for the deeper depressions? can the awlfair go straight onto raw FRP or require epoxy primer underneath?
