DISTELTK
My BRS 15 plan #127 has been a great boat. The boat is much more secure on the water than the skipper. It was built with Meranti plywood. Painted with marine paint. The mast have sailtracks and sails or made of polytarp. Trailer is an older one but good tires and spare wlith bearing buddies. Don't know what it may be worth but no special extras. I think I needed a smaller (easier to rig and sail solo) boat at 74 I am slowing down but still want to sail. I don't know how ro post photos but if I can find some I can find help posting. tom distel lansing mi
Tom Lathrop
Tom, If you get rid of the sail tracks and battens and roll the sails on the mast, rigging time will be drastically reduced. Attach the sheets to the clew with spring clips and this is about as simple as sailing gets. That is how my original BRS LOON was rigged and I miss the simplicity of that set up. I put sailtracks and battens on Lapwing and the rigging time is far greater than it was with the BRS which was the simplest set up I've ever had. Dale Niemann
Having sail tracks on the mast does not prevent rolling the sails on the mast. That is what I do and it makes rigging fast and also allows me to have and use double reef points. Of course my 'Lively' is a CS 17 which is significantly bigger than the BRS. dale
DISTELTK
I used to roll the sails on the masts. The time to rig was faster than with the track. HOWEVER the problem was mounting the main mast on the deck. The extra weight was the reason I went to sail track. My problem is 74 years and not as physically adept as I was a few years ago. The mizzen is not a problem yet. I trailer my boat each time I sail. Most sailing is on a small local lake for a few hours. It is good advise though, and much quicker rigging.. Steve W
Just a thought....does your boat have tabernacles and could you add them?
