PapaFoxtrot
The drawing is not from the OK 20 but from a new design called the OK 256. It has a steeper angle at the break of the sheer. It is however the same method, you will have longer scarfs on the carlins. Graham, Saw you mention this design in the Fishman OK20 thread. I believe this is the design that you're working on for Tsouthward. I realize that it's not ready for prime time, but do you have some profile and layout drawings that you could share? Designer
Patrick, It is indeed the same boat. Unfortunately the plans did not make it home with me. Alan may be able to put up a couple of views.
Alan Stewart
Patrick, As you pointed out, this design is not ready yet. We are still refining the model but soon it should be ready to turn into a jig kit! Here are some teaser shots of the boat. https://picasaweb.google.com/107469640725598007206/Ocracoke256?authuser=0&feat=directlink
PapaFoxtrot
Thanks Alan! That was more information than I had hoped for at this point. Looking forward to the build.
Tsouthward1
Can't wait to get started on this boat. It has been fun watching it come together and be involved a bit in the design.
TimE
Hello Graham/Alan, Will the plans for the OK256 be available this year? Also could you fit twin outboards? Thanks Tim
Designer
Tim, The plans for the OK 256 are finished and available. We finished them last Friday and several have already gone out as well as the first kit. She comes with a built in bracket and it is designed for single and twin motor mount and comes in two layouts, one has a small cuddy cabin forward with two berths and a head, the other is the standard layout with casting platform forward, there is room for a head in the console. Alan has taken over the web site and will be making a new Ok 256 page soon. He is out in the middle of Pamlico Sound racing in the Black Beards Challenge at this moment. Please follow the link below for information about this timber. Paulownia timber Thanks Tim
