Trimming newly discovered high points, etc, etc --- I ended up with a pretty good fit for the cockpit hatch covers. There're done now ('cept for primer coats, painting, etc). The tops are very flat. The deck openings -- almost. The weights close the small gaps (each < 1/32"). The bungee latch cords will hold them down flat. After a while they'll both lay flat.
