LennieG
Tom151- Outdoor storage at 6601 Industrial Ave in Ft Myers (33912) is $4-5 per boat foot per month. They also have covered half spots @115 per month. A half spot is 20' half of a 40' spot that has a permanent car or something in the other half. Their # is 239-267-3006. Let me know if you are coming this to Pahk your boat.
Joe Anderson
Sally and I had an incredible six nights on the water cruising the gulf coast of the Everglades 3/6 - 3/11. We anchored near Joe Kemp Key, Duck Rock, Wood Key Cove, Ponce De Leon Bay, Turkey Key, and Lumber Key. We also sailed a couple of miles up the Lostmans River. Docpal
Joe/Sally, Looks great! were there any "issues" with anchoring in those areas?
Joe Anderson
Not sure what you mean by issues. Park regs are no overnight anchoring within sight of a chickee or within 1/4 mile of a beach site. Which we complied with. We did have some issues with the winged demons. One night I failed to leave sufficient water under the keel. Fortunately it was a quiet night and the water did not drop below 1/2 foot. Docpal
It was the park regs i was questioning. Glad the trip worked out so well! Sounds like a good route to take next Winter !

Joe Anderson
When I first arrived I went to the Ranger Station in Everglades City and outlined what I was planning to do. The Ranger agreed that if I conformed with the rules about anchoring away from designated camp sites no permit would be required. He suggested however that I could fill out a permit without paying the $10.00 fee and he would keep it on file. The permit would serve as an official float plan and would allow them to initiate a S&R in the event that someone calls and reports us missing. I was planning on leaving a float plan with the Rangers anyway so this worked out perfectly. We never saw any LEO on our trip.
