Designer
The Pamlico Challenge is under way and there is plenty of wind as you can see by the Sail Flow wind chart. You can track the competitors at http://watertribe.com/Events/ChallengeGMapper.aspx Because of the heavy onshore winds there is no beach as the waves are right up to the grass. The Chief waved the "off the beach launch" allowing the competitors to launch from any ramp on Cedar Island. Alan and Paul are doing well in Dawn Patrol. Alan's tribal name is SOS.
Designer
Alan and Paul in Dawn Patrol were first in to checkpoint 1 in the early hours of the morning after a hard day going up Pamlico Sound. They were followed a few hours later by the I 550. They decided to rest until the morning before moving on.
Doug Cameron
Alan and Paul are now second. Way ahead of the I550 in the canal, but they have been passed by Roger Mann in his homemade tri with Hobie pedal drive.

Michael Hiester
I wouldn't worry too much about Alan and Paul keeping the lead as Rodger will have to stop and rest sometime. Near as I can tell from the Watertribe Forum and its Facebook page he has been going pretty much non-stop since the start yesterday morning. Doug Cameron
JollyRoger was in CP2 at 01:08 followed by Alan and Paul at 2:30. Roger got some sleep and Alan and Paul went right back out. It looks like Jarhead and Michigama are about to arrive in third place.

Doug Cameron
Jarhead and Michigama (Sea Pearl) were in at 9:50 and off in less than an hour. JollyRoger is still here recovering after a hard 42 hour straight push.
Doug Cameron
Alan and Paul finished first in their Core Sound 20. Bill Fite and Gary Hirsch are second in a Sea Pearl 21. So far the attrition rate has been greater than 50%.

PAR
The CS series has an impressive record in these Water Tribe events. Way to go Alan and Paul and a good "at a boy" for Graham.
