In fact at high speed the reading fluctuates as there will be lots of turbulence , but what's the use of scanning the bottom at high speeds !? 

 

The reason I put the transducer  there is because at that point it will offer the minimum resistance to the water at speeds

Thanks Lotus, I was just curious. The huge lakes I cruise in have lots of rocks and sunken Islands and its nice to have a reasonable idea of the depth for orientation, realizing of course that depth can change instantly when at speed and that eyes and local knowledge are most important. Also helps in looking for structure for fishing areas when cruising. Thanks again for letting us in on your talents.
