Messabout Pics

Recommended Posts

First off, MANY thanks to Graham, Carla, Beth,Alan,  David, etc., etc. for their incredibly gracious hosting of the Messabout! it was an absolutely wonderful, and informative, couple of days, and I had a great time. I took a bunch of pictures which I just posted  onto a Flickr page, but I'm having "issues"getting the link to work. If it does NOT post here I'll go back and post the pix in small groups.

OK, THAT wasn't what I was trying to link to. BUT if you go to www. Flickr.com ,  and look up "Docpal" / 2013 B & B  Messabout" you should be able to see ALL of the above a lot slower...If anyone pictured would like a copy of a particular picture, please drop me a note with your e-mail address and I'll pass them along. I am at- docpalumbo "at" gmail 'dot' com

Great day at B&B on Saturday, I got to spend plenty of time in a CS17 (thanks Norm!), which was my first time in a B&B boat. Luckily my wife and two girls approved, so I haven't wasted the last two years of building :)

SUMMER BREEZE had new owners, I heard this was their first time launching:

I might steal this idea for integrating fairleads into the coaming, and I noticed many boats had the filler panels to create a large raised deck forward

Adrian took this one of me pretending that I know what I'm doing with her dad's boat:

Another 17 that Alan was maneuvering nicely (without use of the rudder for a while)

The handsome AMYCITA (see WoodenBoat #235) motored in on Saturday, she's closing in on 100 years old. Another boat from Massachusetts -- apparently I have to come to North Carolina to see all my neighbors' cool boats :)

All in all a great time. Great boats and lots of nice people. My girls, of course, liked all the dogs that showed up.

Thanks to Graham, Carla, & Beth for hosting a great event, I hope to make it back down again (hopefully with a finished boat next time)

Chris

p.s. if anyone wants a full-res image of these, just pm me.

Is this a CS17 or CS20? I've wondered about the feasibility of a cuddy on the 17. Nice pics, by the way.

I'd like to thank all of the participants of our Messabout for contributing your time, energy, and presence to a wonderful experience. Many of you traveled from afar, all I had to do was step out my front door.

I have attached some pictures from Saturday here, print inquiries welcome.
