P Doug (WA) Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Hi. I'm a long time member (joined in Jan., 2003) but got side tracked from boats for a while, well years. My original intent when I joined up and read the forum for a while was to build a Weekender. Bought the plans. Then I started looking at the B&B Coresound, bought the plans. Then I got to thinking, I don't even know if I would like building boats. So I downloaded the free plans for the Stevenson's Minicup. Thought that would be a good starter and quick to complete. I started it in Aug. of 2004. I got a good start, but things happened and I got side tracked. Then I'd get in the mood to work on it again but it would be buried under junk, err, stuff my wife is going to put in a yard sale (someday). Anyway, I finally went into the garage last week and dug the boat out. I had the hull complete and was waiting to put the deck on. I've even taken the hull out in the river a couple years ago to see if it leaked before I added the deck. So over the last couple days I fastened the deck on and have started filling and sanding. I'm hoping to stay with it this time until the completion. It is on my bucket list to try sailing. I have never done it, but time is passing, I'm not getting any younger and there are a lot of items still on the bucket list. Just thought I show my latest picture, and ask the question: Does it even look sorta like it will be a minicup? By the way, from the start I was going to name it "Patti Rae" after my wife, now I think I will change it to "Procrastination"! Quote
