ospenser Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Hello - in coming up with a mast for this boat given to me, i thought i'd ask here if anyone has photos/plans/specs on the SPINDRIFT 13.3 sailboat - especially the mast details (step, stay/shroud attachment, main halyard hardware at top of mast etc) I can probably wing it with what i have - but the more info the better fair winds to all Mike Quote
Greg Luckett Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Mike, maybe with some more details? Manufacturer, etc.? Par probably knows more about this one, as a guess. Quote
Melissa Goudeseune Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 That looks like a Vandestadt & McGruer Spindrift. A friend of mine, Peter Sleggs, owns one. I have a few photos of his Spindrift on my old website: http://sailing.guild.org/dinghy/ Peter may be able to provide you with more detailed photos of the rig. Quote
larry3t Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 I have a Spindrift 13 with mast and boom but no sails. Can anyone show me the sail dimensions if you have one. Definitely interested used sails but will make my own or adapt if I have dimensions. Can anyone help? Quote
Ken_Potts Posted July 21, 2016 Report Posted July 21, 2016 Hi Larry - Welcome to the forum! Give the nice people at B and B Yacht Designs a call. Their website is www.bandbyachtdesigns.com and the phone number will be there somewhere. Quote
Chick Ludwig Posted July 21, 2016 Report Posted July 21, 2016 Mike and Larry. This is not the same Spindrift that BandB has designed, but maybe the rig from their Spindrift 12 would work on yours. Quote
LACA Posted August 21, 2020 Report Posted August 21, 2020 I too have picked up a Vandestadt & McGruer Spindrift. Did you ever get rigging details? Quote
Don Silsbe Posted August 24, 2020 Report Posted August 24, 2020 @Chick Ludwig It is a sloop, so the rig won’t work. A friend of mine has an old plywood version. I’ll bet that he’d sell you the mast, boom, rigging, and sails. He lives south of Asheville, NC. You’d have to pick ‘em up. Quote
Don Silsbe Posted August 24, 2020 Report Posted August 24, 2020 Now I’m confused. All the online data says it was only built in fiberglass. I’m going to have to see exactly what he has. Quote
Stewart Harris Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 I just recently picked up a Spindrift 13 with a trailer. Boat needs a little TLC. But overall it's in pretty good shape. Needs a good cleaning and polish. Looking forward to getting her in the water. Quote
