Centerboard offset

Just wondering if offsetting the centerboard an additional 1/4" would negatively effect the performance of the boat. I would like to offer some additional strength to the centerboard case framing memeber that is drilled for the mizzen mast. It would also help to make the centerboard case dimensions closer to the size as designed...due to the additional height of my side benches...locating the centerboard further outboard would effectively decrease the amount I need to add to its height.

The Princess' board is much more dramatically offset. I find this to be a great feature for a boat that has limited cabin floor space.
