Joe(Cold Spring onHudson)
Mikes boat photo reminded me of a fun post I had on the OTHER forum that I linked here but was lost in the last crash so allow me to repost for those that might have missed it and for my own amusement Hi guys while I was in the barn sorting out the Benzo. Tess trotted along to see what dad was up to. After getting the car started and then running a bit and turning the motor off. We were overwhelmed by the sound of the stream roaring outside. The snow melt has made the small stream into a raging river. Hmmmmmm what should we do I asked Tess. Hmmmm why build a boat and sail it down the raging river. So some scrap wood and some plastic and screws and in 3 Minutes voile BOAT. The key is not to invest too much time making the boat look pretty, because it aint gonna last long. So lets start with the location for the launch. My pond at the top of the property. With the snow melt, its been filling up and pouring out. Ahh then the proper 3 minute craft constructed of the best wood scraps and plastic and tape Of course sailing is all about having the best crew and we have the best captain A successful launch was had Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, A tale of a fateful trip That started from this tropic port, Aboard this tiny Ship. The mate was a mighty sailing' girl, The Skipper brave and sure, no passengers set sail that day For a three minute tour. A three minute tour. [ sound of thunder: crack! ] The weather started getting rough, The tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew, The Minnow would be lost.
